Artist information

The fado singer LINA is preparing a new chapter in her award-winning career.

After the remarkable success of the album Lina_Raül Refree in which she recorded the repertoire of Amália Rodrigues in partnership with Raül Refree, the prominent Spanish producer with credits on albums by Rosalía and Thurston Moore and Silvia Perez Cruz, both toured in Europe playing more than 60 concerts. Now LINA is proposing to tackle the poetry of Camões, one of the greatest references of Portuguese culture ever, as well as introducing herself as a composer in some of the songs. The internationally and in Portugal distinguished fado singer with multiple awards and nominations collaborated with Massive Attack / Portishead piano player JOHN BAGGOT and released her new and excellent album "Fado Camões"produced by award winning producer from the UK JUSTIN ADAMS (Robert Plant, Tinariwen a.o.) in February 2024.

Both are absolute benchmark musicians and producers in their respective field who found together to reinvent fado and bring the genre to new heights.

Fado pioneer LINA already received the highest praise from media such as BBC, Les Inrocks, The Guardian and Pitchfork, Times, El Mundo, El País for her succssesful collaboration with Raul Refree (producer of Rosalia and Silvia Perez Cruz). She also toured more than 60 dates, performing in some of the most prestigious venues and festivals in Europe like Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, La Linea Festival London, MUPA Budapest, Off Fest Skopje, Oslo World, Festival de Saint Denis Paris, SUD à Arles Festival, Sommarscen Festival Malmo, and Düsseldorf Festival.

The musician and producer JUSTIN ADAMS has worked with such greats as Robert Plant, Tinariwen and Souad Massi. Adams, who grew up in Egypt and is known for his virtuosity in dealing with African and Arab musical influences, masterfully works out the African vibrations inherent in fado and gives it an exquisitely fresh sound, modern yet deeply rooted in its own roots.

Further accompaning Lina is the extraordinary Portuguese guitar player PEDRO VIANA, whose unmistakable sound could be heard together with Fado Stars Mariza, Carminho and Ana Moura.
In the studio, Pedro Viana's guitar, which keeps the connection to the fado universe, is joined by the piano, keyboards and outstanding arrangements of John Baggott, musician and composer who has worked with artists such as Massive Attack or Portishead.

With this star-studded line up LINA is proposing to tackle the poetry of Camõesone of the greatest references of Portuguese culture ever, as well as introducing herself as a composer in some of the songs.
